Beat the Heat
Let’s face it, it’s HOT! And it’s going to continue to be that way for about 2 more months. Check out my 5 quick style tips on how to stay cool during the heat!
1. Wear longer, loose-fitting garments.
I know this sounds crazy, but hear me out. Wearing longer garments protects your skin from directly receiving sunlight. While looser clothing allows the air to circulate rather than sticking directly to your body. Make sense now?
2. Use an undershirt.
I personally use a white or gray V-neck shirts to help catch the sweat. Sounds gross I know, but it helps keep my shirt from getting soiled.
3. Sunglasses and Hats.
Summer is a great time to pull out your favorite frames. My personal favs are my Ray-Ban’s which keep me from squinting while I’m outside. They also come in handy while driving to work in the morning
Name a better time than now to pick up that straw boater hat you’ve been eyeing! The wide brim helps protect your head and neck from the direct sunlight.
4. Linen.
Linen breathes like no other. Don’t get me wrong, you’ll be wrinkled like all hell, but you’ll sure feel a lot cooler in a linen suit versus a wool one. You can find a variety of colors for your suit or shirt which gives you multiple options for this season.
5. Stay hydrated.
Okay, you got me! Staying hydrated isn’t a style tip but it’s a health one. Sweating is our body’s way of keeping cool and drinking lots of fluids (especially water) gives it something to work with. If possible, don’t wait until you’re thirsty to start drinking!
